Speed and Accuracy from B&R stepper motors

A company approached us to develop a system to identify a 2mm thick piece of cardboard in a stack of labels based only on a slight difference in colour between the edge of the labels and the edge of the cardboard and then to pneumatically seperate the stack at the cardboard.


The system had to be reliable, accurate, fast, and fit into a small space under an existing machine. It was also necessary for the system to handle different colour labels and cardboard seperators.

A combination of a stepper motor from B&R and a linear slide and pneumatic cylinder from Festo brought the system to life. Controlled with B&R's compact, affordable and fast Power Panel 65 combined with X20 IO the project was completed. Our inhouse graphic designer made interface screens that matched the clients company profile and are simple and intuitive to use.

Cylinder Storage Machine


A Cylinder Storage machine with a camera system. The machine is capable of storing and retrieving multiple selected cylinders in sequence. 

Handling multiple different cylinders with varying weights and sizes appropriately handling every cylinder through the powerful software written by our project team.

The machine uses three very powerful motors to position itself to each loading bay respectively reaching up to seven meters high to store cylinders allowing for maximum utilization of space.









Turnkey test equipment by KlareTech

Solenoid test bench

When one of our customers needed to thoroughly test a component of their machine before using it the field they turned to KlatreTech to find the solution.

Using a B&R X20CP1486 PLC and a KlareTech custom-built 550VDC drive we were able to create a system that not only monitored various elements of the solenoid such as temperature in several different places on the solenoid as well as stroke length, stroke time, power consumption and current drawn with each activation of the solenoid but also provided the control for the solenoid to simulate field activities.
















 These measurements were all logged to a CSV file with sampling times in the micro-second range, creating data sets of thousands of individual samples per hour of testing.

The full rig was created by KlareTech's project team including all of the mechanical, electrical, software application and pneumatic components.
